2 Nov. 2005.
He's
beginning to look like he knows what he's doing here.
On Halloween, after roosting west of
Jacksonville, NC, on the evening of the 30th, he moved 74 mi. (120 km)
down to the coast right at the NC/SC border, about 20 mi. east of Myrtle
Beach where he spent the night. (Trick or treating for candied eels?) He
made this move again with his transmitter off.
The second location for 11/1 was early afternoon
(about 14:30). He's moving down the coast. This was the last transmission
for the day, so we don't know where he spent the night. On the 2nd, his
first location for the day (on this map) was around 13:20, heading
southwest. He spent the night in the marshes about 35 miles south of
Savanna, GA.
On the last two days mapped here he traveled 229
mi. (368 km). His total travel since leaving his natal area is 1672 mi.
(2690 km). By the time our other youngster tagged this year had flown this
far, he was in Cuba!
