Graduate Students:

UNC Charlotte's Biology Department emphasizes biomedical research and has only very recently begun awarding doctorates. A small number of M.Sc. students pursue studies of conservation and ecological topics under the supervision of Dr. Larry Barden or myself.

bulletEric Harrold -  Comparisons of the home range size, habitat use and prey species of suburban and rural Barred Owls (Strix varia) in the Charlotte region. Eric should defend his thesis in the spring of '03.
bulletElaine Corvidae - Comparisons of the wing skeletal and muscular structure between Cooper's Hawks (Accipiter cooperii), Red-tailed Hawks (Buteo jamaicensis), and Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus).

bulletPatti Kelly - Patti started with the group in the fall of '02 and will be comparing Barred Owl home range size and use between breeding and non-breeding seasons.
